Name = LinksWare3.03 Demo.sit
Path = AMUG CD:Files:Publish:J-L:LinksWare3.03 Demo.sit
Size:332K Date: 2/28/94 Version: 3.03 Demo
Description:
LinksWare3.03 Demo - The idea for LinksWare came from reading the
encyclopedia one evening. I noticed the “see also” section at the end of
the entries, and thought how nice it would be if I could just touch the
word I was interested in, and the “see also” information would appear. You
now have a product which does just that..on your Macintosh. LinksWare sets
up connections between your own text & graphics documents. It is this
capability, to use files you create with your own word-processor and paint
program, which gives LinksWare its power, versatility and usefulness. You
don’t need to create special “cards,” or learn a new word-processor or
paint program, as you would with the stack-based method. Commercial Demo.
Name = DOCMaker 4.01.sit
Path = AMUG CD:Files:Publish:D:DOCMaker 4.01.sit
Size:156K Date: 2/28/94 Version: 4.01

chapters within each document. The stand-alone files are self-executing
applications which you may distribute to others to read and print. No other
application is required! This gives you the ability to distribute
documents and information widely with no knowledge of the end-users Mac
configuration or software. Through "Hot Pictures", documents now support
QuickTime video, sound, document linking, and more. Extensive upgrade!!

Size: 5K Date: 2/28/94 Version: 1.0
Description:
BookMunger 1.0 - BookMunger is a small application that reformats "etexts".
These files have unfortunate carriage returns, linefeeds, bad punctuation,
double spaces after periods and other typesetting no-no's. The BookMunger
app will read these files in (actually, ANY file of the type'TEXT') strip
out the nastyness and write out a new file of the type text. This program
is very helpful in preparing text which will eventually wind up on the
Newton. This program is freeware, copy it all you want.

Name = SaintEdit 1.1.1.sit
Path = AMUG CD:Files:Publish:S:SaintEdit 1.1.1.sit
Size:116K Date: 2/09/94 Version: 1.1.1
Description:
SaintEdit 1.1.1 - SaintEdit is a System 7, squeaky clean, robust general
purpose text editor-not a word processor, not a page layout program, not a
draw program. Hidden behind the simple and intuitive user interface lies a
rather complex program representing years of work. I use it as a snazzy,
efficient replacement for Teach Text - Though it doesn't (yet) support
graphics, SaintEdit will read any text file and is loaded with features.
New features include - Multiple open windows, Memory dependent file size
limit (greater than 32K!), Extensive Undo/Redo support, Safe file saving
routines, FastScrolls, Drag and Drop any TEXT file, Auto read UNIX and DOS
files without messing with converter, Speech Manager Support and more!!
Name = PlainText1.21.sit
Path = AMUG CD:Files:Publish:O-P:PlainText1.21.sit
Size: 62K Date: 2/09/94 Version: 1.21
Description:
PlainText1.21 - PlainText will open any text file. Printing is pretty
ordinary. There is no way to change print margins or lines per page.
PlainText does print the page number at the bottom of each page. If you
hold the option key down while selecting the Open menu item, then all
files, not just text files, are displayed and can be opened. Files opened
in this way are read only. You can copy data from them to the clipboard but
not change them in any way. Shift Right and Shift Left add or remove one
tab on each line or, when word wrap is in, each paragraph within the
selection region. At the same time, it converts all space runs to the
corresponding number of tabs. Many more features.
Name = GeoPointBaseMapDemo.sit
Path = AMUG CD:Files:Publish:E-G:GeoPointBaseMapDemo.sit
Size:604K Date: 2/09/94 Version: Demo
Description:
GeoPointBaseMapDemo - BaseMap is the world’s easiest personal mapmaking
tool for the Macintosh. This demo should provide a good introduction to
working with BaseMap.When you start BaseMap, you'll see a world map
depicting the coastlines. Use the “Map” menu to add international and U.S.
state borders. Use the Zoom tools (magnifying glasses on the tool palette)
to zoom into an area, or use the Map Cutout tool (dashed rectangle with
scissors) to select a particular region for your map. Plot cities on the
map from BaseMap DataBooks. You just decide what you want, and BaseMap does
it! The demo lets you print and do alot, but not - save, print in high
resolution, use the clipboard or export pict. Try it, it's great!

Description:
Parachroma - Parachroma is a small shareware program that allows you to
change the color of the paragraph markers in Microsoft Word 5.0 (the light
grey things that you see when you choose "Show P" under the view menu).
This can be useful if you use Word everyday and prefer a certain color in
order to avoid eyestrain. Its very easy to use. Just double click on
Parachroma, it will ask you to find MS Word, then Apple's standard color
picker will pop up and you can choose any color you want! Makes a big
difference. Works with Microsoft Word 5.0, 5.1 and 5.1a. Complete
documentation with pictures is included!
Name = PagemakerNewPantone.sit
Path = AMUG CD:Files:Publish:O-P:PagemakerNewPantone.sit
Size: 43K Date: 2/01/94 Version:
Description:
PagemakerNewPantone - This archive provides you with two improved PANTONE
spot color library files - PANTONEC.BCF (for coated stock) and PANTONEU.BCF
(for uncoated stock). PageMaker 5.0 reads information from these files when
you choose PANTONE COATED or PANTONE UNCOATED from the “Libraries” option
in the “Edit color” dialog box. These updated .BCF files greatly improve
process simulations when proofing spot color work. The earlier versions of
these files, included with PageMaker 5.0 retail and upgrade packages, could
produce inadequate process simulations when proofing spot colors targeted
for coated or uncoated paper. PANTONE Color Computer Graphics 1986, 1988,

features that Apple’s utility does not provide. IMPORTANT - Just like
Apple’s Note Pad, Notepad++ presents you with a “pad” of discrete pages (8
in Apple’s, 35 in ours). Text will NOT flow from page to page. Each page is
a complete,self-contained document. This is a major upgrade from NotePad++
DA v1.4.1. The new features are tabs, rulers, styles and more than 32K of
text (now it's more like a miniature MS Word than Apple's Notepad!!). This
will work for a month before expiring.

Size:119K Date: 1/14/94 Version: 1.32
Description:
PenPal 1.32 - PenPal is a plug-in module designed to work with Microsoft
Word. It transforms text into a type that appears to be handwritten. PenPal
works transparently with Word, appearing in the Format menu. It has certain
preferences that appear in the Word Preferences dialog. PenPal will give
your documents a personal touch that no computer "simulated handwriting"
font could provide. It does this by choosing from a battery of fonts
designed to give the writing a look of randomness. This assures that people
will find the fonts, especially those occurring near each other, to have a
truly handwritten appearance. Shareware. The truetype fonts which come with
PenPal are also cool on their own!

Description:
KPT#23 The Snowy Mask - Photoshop - Kai’s Power Tips & Tricks. The author
calls this trick the Snowy Mask because the basic notion is to create masks
to separate elements and areas within any logo, text or other shape. Its
trivial to select edges for instance, but this technique will subdivide a
shape into amazing and complex structures, but no matter how wild and
woolly they get, they are related visually to the original shape and
that’s....hard to come by otherwise. Give it a whirl.... it will give you a
swirl or two. This is a read and follow along 12 page document in MS Word.
